Our last 413, the pick of the bunch!
It is breaking our
hearts to lose this little truck. Like all 413s even in standard
trim (our insurers wont allow major mods) she is very able and is the
last in a long line of these that we have used on our site in
Sherwood.
Laid up and dry
stored for four years when we bought her for the last two
years she has done very light duty as our site inspection truck and has
only travelled a few thousand miles. Now we have
lost our storage and she and our spares stock that used to support
three of these must go - we hope to a better home.
Susie was a late import
in right hand drive, we believe from Cyprus. So for a 413 of
her year (indeed, any year) she has very little panel rust and will
only require the odd small bit of tidying to last for years.
She is very punchy, a
ripping engine fitted with a Pony carb giving better performance and
economy (and, oh bliss!) a manual choke! Ten times better than
those Aisan dogs. We fitted the engine ourselves in our workshop
after lifting it out of a mechanically very sound but rotted out
vehicle. For a vehicle of this age the rolling vehicle
is very low mileage at 65k the engine has actually done a couple
of thousand less.
The transmission is solid
and quiet, props rebuilt and balanced seven hundred mile ago.
Brakes are firm and effective, new pads and shoes in the last couple of
hundred miles and one reconditioned caliper. The other will need
easing as she has been in storage the whole Winter.
Exterior is tidy, a
little denting on the offside (rear corner - hardly noticeable and
could be pushed out easily, front wing dent where front indicator
was pushed, didn't crack the lens but 'dished' the panel slightly,
would probably knock out as there is inside access) but nothing
disfiguring, very few rust blisters for a vehicle this old. The
windscreen surround is going, it could easily be patched but an
excellent, glazed, rust free replacement is available (see below).
For Summer days the
hard top currently fitted lifts off easily and a hood frame and
hood are not hard to find now so many of these are rotting
out!
The photos show her
with a Rubbers-Suzuki plate steel bumper and 3000lb Warn winch
fitted. That goes separately and a brand new Suzuki bumper
sprayed black in Smoothrite will be fitted.
Internally she is
spartan, they all are, but everything is there and working, she has the
braced Suzuki roll hoop fitted, four seats, belts and vinyl mats.
The heater works!

She is out of MoT and tax
at present, if you don't want to prepare her yourself we will check and
adjust everything and MoT on sale for an additional £60 (cost of the
test plus paying someone to take it in and bring it back) but can't tax
as she is no longer on the insurance register.
Just
been digging through some spares boxes and have found some additional
items (I dare say there will be more before it sells!). An oil
filter which will go free with the car, an instrument binnacle which
will be first offer to the buyer for £10 (seen the price of a
replacement speedometer from Suzuki!) and a spare radiator grille and
headlight surrounds at £5.
The distributor has a set of HT leads
but I think there is a spare set of superior quality ones
somewhere. If we can dig them out they will also be free with the
car.
We've
found a radiator that we think might be for the 413 (can't be sure as
we are in a different place at present. If it is then it will go
free with the car as we cant be sure of the condition. We do know
where there is a cheap but low cost overhaul place so it wasn't
functioning well it could be made as new for a reasonable amount.
A:Hello, you can call on 0870 321 1360 it will be switched
through to most places I might be! Please note though that the buyer of the
vehicle gets first choice as in the listing. This is an excellent assembly
of things for someone to build a vehicle to last ten years or more so I
don't want to split them unnecessarily!
